VPP is a recent addition to FreeBSD, enabling it to be used for high capacity networks, delivering high transfer capabilities, and making FreeBSD a good alternative to many networking operating systems.
In this tutorial we will introduce all the concepts around VPP, discussing how to configure it from scratch to build a network, and with the help of BGP, OSPF and Babel from the BIRD Routing daemon, we will build a bigger network, and interconnect all the participants in a lab.
This tutorial is indicated for those who would like to understand more about how to leverage FreeBSD for networking in the 21st century.
